Most homes have a hall of some kind, and they can tend to be quite dark and gloomy. Make sure your hall has plenty of light. Mirrors, artfully placed pictures and a beautiful narrow hall table with some well-chosen accessories on it can lift the entire space. What you don't want is a pile of coats and muddy shoes, a dark dingy entrance and bare, dreary walls.Choose warm colours, but keep them neutral so they will compliment and accentuate every colour of room which leads of the hall. The upstairs hall will benefit from this treatment too, if you have one.
Your bedrooms should be laid out to be as spacious, airy and welcoming as possible. Again, lighting is the key. In the daytime it should be bright and sunny, even on a dull day. In the evening it should be warm, enveloping and comforting.
